Jeyrel Soobramanian (Director: Norms and Standards) of Supply Chain Management of National Treasury gave a presentation on “Procurement and Supply Chain Issues”.  Discussions highlighted interesting procurement issues specific to libraries, e.g. the possible need for single sourcing when a book written by a specific author is procured, as the book may be procured at a lower cost directly from the author instead of through publishers or retailers. Participants were provided with the details of appropriate contact persons for various concerns.
