Welcome to the TAU Programme and Project Management (PPM) Toolkit and e-Learning module

This toolkit provides a practical approach to what many consider a complex process: the management of Projects. The Programme and Project Management Toolkit is designed to simplify the processes required to manage a Project successfully from beginning to end. It defines Project Management in simple terms and provides you with all of the documentation tools and templates required to make your Project a success.

The Technical Assistance Unit (TAU), National Treasury provides a comprehensive toolset that includes:

  • An entire project methodology describing every phase, activity and task in the lifecycle.
  • A complete set of project templates to give you a head-start, each time you embark on a project task.

An in-depth description of:

  • Every phase, activity and task in the lifecycle is described, by explaining how it should be undertaken, who should complete it and when it should be done.
  • Project management practices help ensure that projects can be completed in a structured fashion – on time, on budget and producing expected outputs. But one size may not fit all.
  • Guidelines for managing large and small projects to ensure project success. However, project management process should not overtake the project. When applying the project management practices, you must consider differences in project size.

By using this knowledge you can Conceptualise, Define, Plan, Implement and Close-Out projects more efficiently.
