ABOUT TAU

 

The TAU is a support facility in the National Treasury providing technical assistance through a wide range of process management, advisory support, and knowledge management services along the project and programme management cycles, to all the national, provincial and local government departments.

The vision of TAU is to be a creative centre of excellence in public sector management assistance, which promotes learning and co-operation for improved service delivery and sustainability. The mission of TAU is to be a support facility within National Treasury that provides management and technical assistance to government initiatives with the aim of improving the quality of spend in the public sector.

In line with its mission, the TAU has the following strategic objectives:

a) To provide management and technical assistance to National Treasury and government institutions,

b) To leverage and disseminate public sector knowledge and innovation, and

c) To build and maintain the TAU as an effective and efficient learning organisation,

TAU acts in the best interests of the public, conducts itself with integrity and provides government with quality service, best advice and innovative solutions based on accumulated public sector knowledge.

The current strategic thrusts of TAU, underpinned by two core business pillars of providing management and technical assistance, and public sector knowledge and innovation, places it in a vanguard position to contribute to improving the quality of spend in the public sector.
